Dr. Karla Muñoz Esquivel and Dr. Suzanne Timmons, from the SENDoc team, at Ulster University and UCC respectively, attended the IGS (Irish Gerontological Society) 2018 conference, which was hold at Slieve Russell Hotel, Carraghan, Co. Cavan.
On this conference they had opportunity to meet health experts on the field of gerontology, e.g. occupational therapists, consultant geriatricians and engineers working with connected health. They had about 25 visitors at the SENDoc stand, so they were quite pleased to be able to be there and listen all these people's feedback, experiences and interest on knowing how technology is being used to help elders to live a more independent life and assisting to consultants and physiotherapist to know more about their patients to provide better quality of care.
SENDoc project exhibited IMU sensors to measure range of movement in patients with rheumatism in the Spinal Column, special wearable gloves for Parkinson Disease/rheumatism, activity trackers, step counters and special insoles.
